The significance and surprise that surfaces when I draw lies in the feeling of vulnerability that arises when coming face to face with my own discomforts and critical voice. What’s uncanny about this is that it offers an opportunity for experimentation with no tangible thought in mind, often transporting me in directions that make no sense until it does. The actions of marking, deleting, shading, and layering create an initially indiscernible trajectory from where a gesture begins to its end.
